About our school
The school was established as ‘Thalassery Municipal School’ in the year 1945. Initially, the school was housed in the European Club Building situated adjacent to the Bishop House. In 1957, the school was taken over by the Kerala Government and rechristened to ‘Thalassery Government High School’.
Due to space constraints in the original compound preventing expansion, the school was shifted to Chirakkara in 1960. The institution initially functioned as an Upper Primary and High school with almost 1,400 students and was later awarded a Vocational Higher Secondary section. The continuous support from the Government of Kerala, stakeholders, and the public has helped transform GVHSS Chirakkara into a major contributor to general education in the region.

സെക്കൻഡ് ലാംഗ്വേജ് ആയ മലയാളം, ഹിന്ദി, അറബിക്ക്, സംസൃതം തുടങ്ങിയവയ്ക്ക് പകരം ബിസിനസ് ഡെവലപ്പ് ചെയ്യുന്നതിനെ പറ്റിയും സ്വയം തൊഴിലുമായും ബന്ധപ്പെടുന്ന “Entrepreneurship Development” എന്ന വിഷയമാണ് പഠിക്കാനുള്ളത്.
